As a bit of added drama, Will is almost knocked off the Jupiter ship! After some hesitation, Maureen decides to free June, who claims she has sailing skills. Unfortunately, a monsoon is approaching behind them and they also hit a reef!ĭon and John manually free the ship from the reef but spring a leak in the process. However, June tries to not look entirely threatening, even winning some trust from the seasick Penny by telling her to put an earplug in one ear. It’s also revealed that June has a shiv, much like a traditional earth prisoner. Although Will doesn’t want to leave without his robot and Penny wants to stay, it’s apparent that staying could be a problem. Will records them turning their spaceship into a sailboat. Before long it kills their crops, pressuring them to move on a plan. A siren goes off signifying a breach in their atmosphere containment system. New dangersĪs is usually the case in Lost in Space, relaxation doesn’t last long. They also briefly discuss the alien technology which got them to their current strange planet, and it becomes obvious that Will misses his pet alien robot, even having a toy version of it. As a family unit, an idea is proposed for them to use the active lightning to jumpstart the Jupiter 2 to leave the planet. She mentions the so-called Beacon of Maracaibo (AKA “Catatumbo lightning”), which is a seemingly endless lightning storm that occurs at Catatumbo River, Venezuela. Later, Maureen and Will discuss the weather patterns on their planet, including the frequency of lightning.
